SplineGen — Spline, Gear & Serration Generator
SplineGen is a browser-based tool for engineers and machinists who design
involute splines, gears, and serrations — as well as straight-sided splines,
polygon / square / hex drives, and hexalobular (torx-style) profiles. It
generates standards-compliant tooth geometry, verifies it with built-in
stress / FEA / LTCA analysis, assembles multi-gear trains on an interactive
canvas, and exports manufacturable CAD files (DXF, STEP, STL, 3MF, SVG, PDF) —
all in the browser, with no install.
Supported standards
What you can do
- Generate standards-compliant internal and external tooth geometry
- Design multi-gear assemblies from named architectures — pair, series, bent, idler, planetary and compound — with snap-to-mesh and kinematic animation
- Reuse work from built-in libraries of shapes, face features and gear trains — each shipping a starter set, each open to your own
- Run 2D Saint-Venant FEA, LTCA, and analytical stress checks (Kt, factor of safety, angle of twist)
- Measure over pins / wires and compute tolerances and fits
- Estimate machining parameters and cost across eight processes (linear & rotary broaching, hobbing, shaping, grinding, wire & sinker EDM, 3D printing)
- Export DXF 2013/2018, STEP, STL, 3MF, SVG, CSV, AutoCAD Script, PDF drawings, and a multi-page compliance report
